Due to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare), you are required to purchase health insurance either on your own or through your employer (if available), or pay a tax penalty to opt out.
The penalty for 2016 is the greater of 2.5% of the household income or $695 for each adult and $347.50 for each child. The cost and range of protection provided by your health insurance policy will depend on your insurance provider, policy type, and whether or not you qualify for a subsidy based on your household size and income. Lastly, the ACA states that you cannot be denied coverage or charged a higher premium due a pre-existing health condition, nor can pre-existing conditions be excluded or subjected to a waiting period.
When applying for coverage thru the Federal Marketplace, both the National Producer Number (NPN) and the FFM ID shown above will need to be added when asked if you are working with an agent/broker, allowing us to assist you with the selection of your health insurance.
